Due to the current Covid-19 restrictions, this years’ service will be streamed online so that families still have the opportunity to reflect on their loss and remember all of the babies who have sadly died.

Rebecca Bleackley, Bereavement Midwife, UHMBT, said: “We’ve worked hard to be able to hold our baby loss remembrance service this year, despite the current restrictions on meeting face-to-face.

“Although the service will be slightly different, we hope that it will still provide some comfort to the women and families who are grieving the loss of a baby. It is a chance for people to recognise that they are not alone in their grief, and a way for us to support and give strength to those who might be struggling.”

Lynne Wyre, Deputy Chief Nurse, UHMBT, said: “The loss of a baby is a hugely traumatic experience for anyone to go through, and many families find comfort in being able to share their loss with other people who have gone through a similar experience.

“We hope that this service can offer a peaceful setting where families can remember their baby. Anyone who has been affected by baby loss is welcome and encouraged to attend.”

The service will be streamed via Zoom from the Royal Lancaster Infirmary chapel on Sunday November 29 at 3pm. Please email the Trust’s Chaplains at [email protected] or [email protected] to receive the link to join the service.

If you would like your baby’s name to be read out during the service, please complete the form on the UHMBT website here: https://www.uhmb.nhs.uk/news-and-events/events/baby-loss-remembrance-service.
