When they first met, Alex, who is a trainee advanced clinical practitioner in A&E, demanded Tash find her a seat to sit down as her feet hurt from wearing high heels and then told her off for smoking. However they very soon became a couple and the rest is history.

Their wedding day was perfect. It was particularly special for Alex because it was the same day as her parents, Ann and Kevin’s wedding 45 years earlier.

They didn’t have a bridal party as such, instead Tash’s siblings celebrated the night before the wedding by organising a ‘hag do’ which consisted of a makeshift casino for the family, being DJ during the ceremony and taking photos. Photo: Ben Smith
