Penwortham man shaves head for Macmillan

A former military man has shaved his head in solidarity of friends who have been diagnosed with cancer.

Frank Hogarth, of Penwortham, took part in Macmillan’s Brave the Shave, raising nearly £400 for the charity.

The 57-year-old collected £150 during the event at the Lostock Hall Royal British Legion Club, plus a further £225 through Just Giving.

He said: “I lost a friend to cancer and a few of my friends from my military days have had cancer so I wanted to do something.

“I am glad I raised this money towards Macmillan Cancer Support. Cancer is a horrible disease.

“I like my new look. It has started to grow back already.”
