Overnight closures on M6 for new link road

Drivers using the M6 in Lancashire are being advised of two overnight closures as part of ongoing works for the Heysham to M6 Link Road.

Contractors Costain say that on Monday May 23 the motorway will close at 8pm between junction 34 and 35 and re-open by 6am the following morning.

A second provisional closure is booked for Tuesday May 24 from 8pm to 6am.

The closure is required to permit the safe lifting and fitting into place of the new parapets on Foundry Lane Bridge over the M6.

The Bay Gateway is expected to be fully completed and open for traffic by mid-October with major routes associated with it set to re-open over the next few months.
