The British Heart Foundation surveyed the UK’s Top 100 universities to find out which students are the UK’s biggest chocoholics ahead of DECHOX, which challenges people to give up chocolate for the month of March to raise money for life saving heart research.

The University of Central Lancashire came in eleventh place in the BHF’s chocoholic league table with students eating an incredible 32,868 chocolate bars in a single term.

Students at UCLan favoured a KitKat over any other chocolate bar on sale, eating 2,357 over a four month period.

The BHF contacted the Top 100 universities in the UK to find out how many chocolate bars were sold on campus between September and December last year. Of the 56 that responded, there were a total of over 1.1 million chocolate bars bought on university campuses across the UK.
