You’ll never have to feel self-conscious again with so-called ‘flatulence jeans’, sold by a company named Shreddies.
According to the company, the trousers have been designed to eliminate a fart’s smell, using activated carbon.
Shreddies sell a range of men and women’s flatulence clothing, including underwear and pyjamas.
What are flatulence jeans?
The organisation’s website states: “Shreddies flatulence filtering garments are the perfect way to treat flatulence issues.
“The garments feature an activated carbon lining that absorbs all flatulence odours, they become trapped and neutralised by the cloth which is then reactivated after washing.”
“The carbon lining gives increased protection and more freedom to enter social situations.
“When worn with Shreddies flatulence filtering underwear it offers a double layer of protection, giving increased confidence that all odours are filtered.”
Do they really work?
According to Chemistdirect.co.uk, charcoal in general can help with flatulence issues.
The website states: “Over-the-counter charcoal tablets can help greatly. These work by absorbing gas in the digestive system.
“Charcoal pads worn in your underwear are also available.
These absorb the gas that is released during flatulence and mask the foul-smelling gas.”
Hefty price tag
These special trousers come in sizes eight to 20 for women and sizes 28 to 40 for men, but the odour-fighting jeans come at the hefty price of £100 per pair.
Flatulence underwear starts from £19 per pair for ladies and £24 for men, while the pyjamas are £83 each. The company also sells a flatulence cushion, in either black or grey, costing £28 each.
