NW NEWS: Man arrested in human slavery investigation in Lancashire

A 55-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into human slavery allegatinos in Lancashire.

Police arrested the man, from Blackburn, on suspicion of slavery, servitude, forced labour and section 18 assault, at the Railway News newsagents on Railway Road in the town on Monday, July 11.

He has been bailed pending further enquiries until Thursday, October 6.

Sgt Ben Hodgkinson, from Blackburn Police, said: “This is a very sensitive investigation and we are continuing to work with partner agencies to ensure that the victim is offered adequate support.

“If you think you have come into contact with the victim or you know anything that could assist with our investigation please get in touch.”
