NHS Greater Preston and NHS Chorley and South Ribble Clinical Commissioning Groups are supporting a new campaign that encourages people to seek help as early as possible from their local pharmacist if they are feeling unwell to prevent minor illnesses developing into something more serious.

‘The earlier, the better’ campaign from NHS England targets people over 45 especially the over 60s together with their families, carers or friends and encourages them to seek the advice of their pharmacist before going to the emergency services.

Dr Gora Bangi, chairman of NHS Chorley and South Ribble CCG, and Dr Ann Bowman chairman of NHS Greater Preston CCG, say visiting your local pharmacy could save an unnecessary trip to hospital.
