Newlywed dad-to-be in court charged with manslaughter of St Annes businessman
A 20-year-old man who married just six weeks ago has made his first court appearance charged with the manslaughter of a company boss.
Peter Anthony Honeyman, whose new bride is pregnant, is accused of the unlawful killing of Johnathon James Plum in the early hours of Sunday morning on Wood Street, St Annes.
Honeyman, who works doing home improvements and roofing, had his address given as Heyhouses Lane, St Annes, when he appeared before Blackpool Magistrates.
The charge against him alleged he inflicted catastrophic head injuries on Mr Plum who died in hospital 24 hours after the attack.
Magistrates heard that Honeyman handed himself in to police in Blackpool.
Honeyman was remanded in custody following a half-hour hearing.
Mr Plum, who lived with his wife and family in a £450,000 seafront home on Sandgate, St Annes, died in Royal Preston Hospital on Tuesday.
Mr Plum ran a series of companies based at the Squires Gate Business Park, Blackpool, including a telecoms firm and and an energy sales firm.
Honeyman, whose family flanked two sides of the court hearing, will appear before Preston Crown Court on July 29.
