New weather warning for the North West

The north west was today warned to brace itself for a battering as a new storm brings more wind and rain to Britain.

Heavy rainfall followed by gales has been predicted for tonight, possibly lasting through the weekend.

The heaviest rainfall will be over high ground, initially across western Scotland, then developing across North West England and Wales during Thursday afternoon and evening.
