A burgeoning church is preparing to move to a purpose-built new location.

Pastor Daniel Leung and his wife Lisa opened The Potters House Church in a converted office in Moor Lane, Preston, in 2010, and now thanks to congregation fundraising, they are almost ready to open a 6000sq ft space above Dulux Decorating Centre at 21 Garstang Road.

It will provide space for a large auditorium, a games area, classrooms, a cafe, and Sunday school facilities.

Pastor Leung said he had been called to Preston from the mother church in Manchester.

He said: “After praying about it, God kept showing us clear signs.

“One of the most memorable was when I had a map hit me on the head and it was a map of Preston - sounds weird but it was a call.

“I had never really heard of Preston but after visiting we felt that Preston was what I called ‘a sleeping giant’.

“What I meant was that something great is going to happen in Preston, but it just needed an awakening.

“With financial investment in Preston’s economy, alongside spiritual investment into the hearts of its people, Preston can be a giant. The people here are tremendous and I think the best days are ahead.”

The evangelical Christian church has a congregation of more than 80 people of all ages and nationalities.

Services take place throughout the week alongside a host of activities including bible study, prayer meetings, music, drama, youth, games, gym, football and a lively gospel concert scene.

Main services are held every Sunday at 11am and 7pm and on Wednesday from 7.30pm.
