Elyse Campbell, 17, of Penwortham, near Preston, is a student at Leyland’s Runshaw College and a self confessed shopaholic. She tells us about her bargain and splurge fashion items and why she feels they were worth every penny.
MY BIGGEST BARGAIN
“My biggest bargain item is a white crop top from Topshop which only cost me £8.
“This top is perfect. It is plain but it still has some texture which gives it a little detail.
“It looks good paired up with so many things. I normally style it with a pair of high-waisted jeans and a nice chunky belt because this makes my waist look smaller.
“I like to add an open shirt to the crop top. If it is hot, I can tie the shirt around my waist which adds layers to my outfit.
“I believe layering is key, especially with our great British weather.
“Although this look is quite casual, you can dress it up you by adding a big, chunky necklace to give the top a dressier feel.
“Adding a leather jacket to my crop top and plaid shirt combination adds further layers and makes my outfit more interesting.
“The black leather gives my look a tough edgy feel, which I love.
“For style inspiration, I often look to Instagram and celebrities such as Kendall Jenner.
“The Instagram account I always look at is called Street Style Inspirations. It is so good for different outfit ideas.
“I like Kendall Jenner as she is really on trend and stylish and we are the same age.
“I like to look at her style and buy cheaper versions of what she has but most of the time I will just go to the shops and put outfits together myself.
“I would describe my personal style as edgy. I do like to stand out from the crowd and try to be a little different if i can.
“I wear a lot of ripped jeans - in fact I only have one pair that hasn’t got rips in them!
“I normally dress in quite a casual manner and I only get dressed up if I’m going out for the night.”
MY BIGGEST SPLURGE
“My biggest splurge is this Michael Kors watch and bracelet set.
“I really loved this watch as soon as I saw it and I remember using all my birthday money to buy it.
“The watch was £220 and the matching bracelet was £90.
“What I like most about the watch is its big oversized watch face.
“The rose gold colour complements my skin perfectly - it’s my favourite piece of arm candy.
“I absolutely love Micheal Kors jewellery because it is not too expensive but it is still something nice to treat yourself with.
“I also think it is such a great idea to have bracelets to go with the watches as I’m always stuck as to what I can wear with watches without clashing the colours.
“The tortoiseshell detailing makes it extra special as it makes it look very classy and vintage.
“My favourite place to shop is Topshop because I love the style and the fit of their clothes.
“I also like Zara as it looks very high end. It is fabulous and very reasonably priced which is just what I need as a student.
“Zara also have an amazing sale which is always a bonus.”
