Kristi-An Vardy and her mum, Wendy Taylor, have shaved their hair off, raising more than £600 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The pair, who live in Leyland, were given the razor treatment at The Co-Op, in Dunkirk Lane, where Kristi-An works. The 24-year-old said: “My husband, Jack, lost his uncle, Kevin Vardy, last year, aged 55, and some other friends have lost family members.“They have said how great Macmillan has been and I wanted to do something to support them.“I was unsure what to do and considered sitting in a bath of beans, doing a run or a sponsored walk and pub crawl. Someone suggested shaving my head as I had long hair half way down my back and it would make a big impact.“My mum, who had a pixie hair cut, joined in. We raised more than £600 so far and we are still getting donations. I can’t believe how much we managed to raise. I had only set a target of £250.“My new look was a shock at first but when I think about what it is for, I smile.”To make a donation visit https://www.gofundme.com/jny2d8-brave-the-shave
