Mum and 18 month old baby suffer '˜significant' injuries in collision with car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman and a toddler were injured in a collision near Clitheroe.

The incident happened at about 1pm on Standen Hall Road at Worston when a white Vauxhall Corsa was involved in a collision with a 45 year-old woman and an 18 month old baby boy who was in a pram.

The toddler was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital and the woman taken to Royal Preston Hospital. Both had significant but not life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Corsa, a 17 year-old boy from Skipton, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and has been bailed until March.

Sgt James Power, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the collision itself or who saw the white Corsa in the moments leading up to the collision to contact the police.”
