MP Nigel Evans has been reselected to stand as the Conservative party candidate for the Ribble Valley in next year’s general election.
He said he was “absolutely delighted”, and said he was looking forward to fighting the general election.
He said: “To have this issue put to bed allows the party to concentrate not only on retaining the Parliamentary seat but also winning the forthcoming local elections, which I am confident we will achieve.
“I look forward to continuing to be a strong voice for the Ribble Valley, which I have been proud to call my home for over twenty years. I can assure my constituents that I will continue to argue publicly for the area’s protection from large scale housing developments in order to preserve it as the rural area it presently is, and I will continue to make the case for local businesses to prosper.”
