Motorcycle cortege tribute to Blood Biker

The cavalcade was organised in memory of Marcel Falloon.

Marcel died suddenly at his Preston home.

He had been a volunteer with the North West Blood Bikes Lancashire and Lakes for around two years.

The organisation provides a free, voluntary out of hours transport service to NHS hospitals.

Riders carry urgent and emergency blood, samples, and other items between hospitals.

Volunteers turn out through the night, at weekends and Bank Holidays, enabling hospital funding to be better spent on patient care.

A relative said: “Marcel was a very generous man.

“Like other volunteers, his kind nature and his love of motorbikes came together when he rode for North West Blood Bikes.”

Marcel’s funeral was held at St Andrew’s Parish Church, Ashton, Preston, on Thursday .

After the service his colleagues and friends rode through the streets and roads of Preston to Marcel’s committal at Preston Crematorium.

Police agreed to temporary road closures as the riders passed.

NWBB-LL had a number of liveried bikes along the route to assist with traffic control

A spokesman for North West Blood Bikes paid tribute to Marcel.

A message on its website said: “One of our most prolific Blood Bike riders, friend and genuine good guy passed away, suddenly. Marcel was such a genuine extremely good hearted man and would do anything for anyone.”

Marcel’s family said they would encourage all motor cyclists to consider volunteering for the organisation.
