ModaFest Scomadi Scooter Festival in Whittingham raises hundreds for Rosemere

Peter Reid, who was given the all clear from bowel cancer last summer, organised a social gathering - ModaFest - at Whittingham Sports and Social Club to raise funds for Rosemere Cancer Foundation.

“In 2013 I started my business ScooterModa in Preston to sell Scomadis, which was the innovation of one of my lifelong friends from Preston called Frank Sanderson. Frank’s mother was also diagnosed with bowel cancer and sadly she passed away last year.

“I have held this event at Whittingham Sports and Social for the last three years to celebrate the success of Scomadi Scooters and to raise awareness about bowel cancer as many of my patrons and colleagues are now well into their 50s and more at risk of this dreadful disease.

“Thankfully I was given the all clear in June 2017, but I did lose one of my friends, Graham Vickers, one week after the event who suffered from throat cancer.

“I had already named a trophy for best in show after him prior to him passing away and will continue to do so for the duration of our event.

Peter has raised more than £2,000 over the past three years for Rosemere.
