Steven Woodcock, 40, was last seen at his home address on Balmoral Road in the town at around 10.30am by a friend on Thursday March 17.
He had not been in touch with any friends or family since or turned up at work which was unusual.
Police said he had been found safe and well in Edinburgh on Monday.
