Minute's silence for former South Ribble Mayor

A minute's silence is to be held in memory of a long-serving councillor and former Mayor.

Former South Ribble councillor Eunice Webster has died at the age of 90.

She served as a councillor in the Little Hoole and Much Hoole ward for 27 years.

Her service ran from May 1976 to May 2003.

Eunice, who was Mayor in 1994/95, died on Monday,April 11.

She had been suffering from Alzheimers for several years and was in a nursing home in the Lake District.

Her funeral will be held at St Michael’s Church, Much Hoole, but the date is yet to be finalised.

South Ribble council said the Civic flag would be flown at half mast until after her funeral.

There will also be a one minute’s silence before the next meeting of the council.
