Memorial service for rugby dad, 50

A memorial service is to be held in Preston for a 50-year-old father-of-two who died hours after playing touch rugby.

Sean Tomlinson, from Letchworth, Hertfordshire, passed away suddenly in London after turning out for the Hitchin Rugby Club’s Grey Hogs at Allianz Park, the home of rugby union Premiership side Saracens earlier in the evening.

After completing several fun games, Sean died at nearby the Mill Hill Rugby Club base.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday at St Mary’s Church, Hitchin, followed by a reception at Chesfield Downs Golf Club.

A memorial service is being held at 4pm on Tuesday at Our Lady and St Edward’s Church at Fulwood.
