Eight-year-old Megan Alty has donated her hair to help children with cancer.
The St Mary Magdalene’s Catholic Primary School pupil had her long locks chopped off at Lucia Hair and Beauty Salon, in Lostock Hall, raising £250 for The Katy Holmes Trust.
Her hair was donated to make wigs for children with cancer via The Little Princess Trust.
Her mum, Kirsty, of Penwortham, said: “Megan managed to raise £250 in cash and online donations from family, friends and strangers, which is amazing.
“She has donated her hair to The Little Princess Trust and the money will go to The Katy Holmes Trust.
“She wanted to help children who have lost their hair from being ill. And raise money as she knows to give money towards a charity helps to find a cure and helps for equipment and support that may be needed.”
