Man stabbed in knife attack

A factory worker was stabbed in the back during a knife attack at a house gathering.

The 25-year-old man, from Preston, was attacked with a knife at a house on Leyland Road in Penwortham, near Preston, on Saturday morning.

Police and paramedics were called to the property, between the Bridge Inn and Margaret Road, at around 1.15am.

The victim, who has not been named, is said to be stable after undergoing surgery for a punctured lung at Royal Preston Hospital over the weekend.

Two teenage boys, aged 17 and 16, are being quizzed by detectives from Leyland CID on suspicion of wounding with intent.
