Man suffers burns in house fire
A man suffered burns in a kitchen blaze in Penwortham today.
Fire crews from Preston and Leyland extinguished the blaze at the semi-detached house in Fairham Avenue, off Broadfield Drive, at around 10.10am.
Paramedics were called to treat the householder who had burns to his hands. It is not thought his condition is serious.
The firefighters used a hose reel jet and then a portable fan to clear the premises of smoke.
