A dad who invited a youngster into his home to play with his child – then assaulted her – has been jailed.
Nadeem Hussain, 34, of Fishwick View, Preston was sentenced to five years and two months imprisonment at Preston Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting the six-year-old girl by touching and one count of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was also given a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO).
The charges relate to an incident which happened on June 13 when Hussain invited the victim to play with his child before taking her to an attic room where he sexually assaulted her.
DS Steve Ryder from the Deter Team at Lancashire Police said: “I am pleased Hussain has been jailed for these horrendous offences and I would like to reassure the community that although offences such as these are rare, we will always strive to bring sex offenders to justice.
“We take all reports of sexual offences extremely seriously and the victim in this case has been working closely with specially trained officers and has been receiving support from partner agencies.
“I hope the result allows the young victim and her family to move forward with their lives.”
