Man attacked by would-be robbers

A 32-year-old man suffered cuts to his face after being attacked in the street by a gang of would-be robbers.

They said three or four men approached the victim and punched him several times in the face while looking through his pockets. They made off without stealing anything.

The victim sustained cuts to his face and was treated at Royal Preston Hospital.

One of the men has been described as being of Asian appearance, aged in his mid-20s and around 5ft 9ins in height. He was clean-shaven with short, dark hair and wearing a dark green jacket with fur around the hood.

DC Daniel Greene, of Preston Police, said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, or who has any information about who the men may be.”
