Man arrested over knife incident on train

A 40-year-old man was arrested in Preston on Monday morning on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.

Police were called after the man was seen carrying what looked like a kitchen knife whilst travelling on a train from Blackpool North to Preston.

He was seen shouting on his mobile phone at Preston train station and was arrested at about 9am.

He remains in police custody.

Lancashire Police and the British Transport Police attended.
