The air ambulance was called after a car suffered a tyre blow-out and collided with a fence on the M55.

Emergency services were called to the crash on the westbound carriageway just before junction 4 at Kirkham at around 3pm on Monday.

A man was treated by paradmedics after suffering back injuries, but was said to be conscious.

Within 10 minutes of the crash the car was on the hard shoulder and local traffic problems had eased.
