A man is in hospital with suspected internal bleeding following an accident on a Lancashire motorway.

Just after 6pm on Thursday a Skoda Fabia, a Mercedes 320 Auto and a Mazda Bongo campervan collided in lane one of the M55 westbound between junction one and three.

The driver of the Skoda, a 48 year-old-man from Lytham, was initially thought to have suffered minor injuries. His condition later deteriorated and he is at the Royal Preston Hospital with suspected internal bleeding.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
