M62 reopens after bridge fall fatality

THE M62 westbound has reopened following a fatal incident this morning.

All lanes of the motorway were closed after a man died after falling from a bridge at the junction of Hall Lane, between junction six and seven in Knowsley, with the air ambulance, rapid response and police on the scene.

Motorists are advised to remain patient and drive carefully while queuing traffic starts to move.

Due to the large volume of traffic built up between junctions seven, in Rainhill, and eight, in Burtonwood, congestion will still take some time to clear and motorists should still consider alternative routes during rush hour if necessary.
