A city library will celebrate its 60th anniversary this month.

Ribbleton Library was officially opened on March 29 1954.

To celebrate, there are photographs showing the library in 1954 until the 1980s, and the refurbishment in 1984 to 1985.

The latest refurbishment took place in January 2012.

On March 28, the library will have a visit from the Museum of Lancashire at 10am.

Refreshments will be served and the Friends of Ribbleton Library will be in attendance.
