Firefighters are battling a large blaze on moorland this evening.
The blazing hot and dry weather have created tinderbox conditions on the moors above Rivington, Chorley.
Some seven fire engines and 35 firefighters are up on the moors trying to extinguish the flames.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer for Lancashire Justin Johnson said: "We currently have seven fire engines and approx 35 firefighters fighting wildfires above Rivington. It’s very dry on the moors so please take care.
"We’ve been aware that this might occur given the long dry spell. Fortunately crews are well trained and well equipped with special wildfire procedures. Please take extra care while this beautiful weather continues."
A fire crew's drone footage shows how widespread the blaze is, with the burnt area dwarfing firefighters on the ground.
