LATEST: M6 back to normal after crash near Preston

At least one lane was closed northbound between junctions 31 and 31a after an incident on Sunday afternoon. Heavy delays built up for a number of hours but all lanes were reopened before 4pm.

It is not known how serious the collision is but Highways England warned motorists of delays earlier in the day.

Lancashire Road Police was involved in the clean up, Highways England said.
