Lanes closed on M6 after lorry fire

Two lanes were closed on the M6 following a lorry fire, say police.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway at around midday on Thursday, May 10 between junctions 27 and 28 for Leyland.

Fire crews were called to the scene where the lorry was found to be completely alight.

Police confirmed that everybody was out of the lorry and nobody was injured in the incident.

All lanes were re-opened by around 1.30pm.
