A cycling project pedalled to national recognition as the Lancaster Youth Challenge was awarded Gold in the Sportivate Awards.

The Lancaster project was one of three shortlisted initiatives to be invited down to the Houses of Parliament by Minster for Sport, Helen Grant, MP.

Engaging young people aged 14-18 from deprived backgrounds The Lancaster Youth Challenge set out to train a group of first time cyclists to complete the Lancaster to Edinburgh section of the Land’s End to John O’Groats route. Lancashire Sports Partnership’s relationship manager and Sportivate lead, Mark Stephenson, attended the award ceremony.
