Two sisters have set themselves a mammoth challenge for 2015 – running a total of 2,015 miles by the end of the year in aid of Blue Skies Hospitals Fund.

Keen runners Carole Bailey and Joyce Tetlow are determined to achieve their goal in thanks for the care their mother, Linda Bailey, and uncle, Christopher Ward, received for cardiac problems at Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

Linda, 68, underwent a quadruple heart bypass eight years ago, and Christopher, 65, had a triple heart bypass.

Carole, from Clitheroe, said: “I’d heard of a group of four people who ran a total of 2,014 miles last year for charity, and I just thought, ‘I can do that’. The more I thought about it, the more I realised I might need some help, so I roped my sister in as well.”

Carole has already completed 55 miles of the challenge
