A new social inclusion programme is helping to engage young people in sport and reduce anti-social behaviour across the Fylde.
Outreach, which is organised and delivered by the AFC Fylde Community Foundation in schools and youth centres throughout the borough, follows a number of successful programmes delivered since the foundation was formed in 2012.
With a new community sports coordinator, Matthew Agnew, on board to oversee the programme, Outreach aims to break down barriers for young people in the Fylde and create new routes into education, training and employment.
Tom Hutton, director of community development at AFC Fylde, commented: “By involving young people in team sports, Outreach is designed to help get their lives on the right track.
“Anti-social behaviour is a problem that affects most urban areas up and down the country but we’re committed to reducing this through Outreach and other programmes we deliver.”
