Two more men have been charged with the murder of Jonjo Highton in Preston, taking the number charged to five.

Minhaj Musa, 20 of Deepdale Road, Preston and Sabaar Dal, 19 of Alice Square, Preston have been charged with murder.

Musa appeared at Preston Magistrates on Saturday and Dal is due to appear today (Monday).

Two other local men aged 19 and 24 have also been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in police custody.

Six other people have been arrested for offences linked to the investigation and were released on police bail.

Owen Whitesmith, 19, of Glebe Close, Preston; Arron Graham, 22 of Ripon Street, Preston and Craig Walton, 26, of Watling Street Road, Preston were each additionally charged with murder last week.

A 27-year-old man of no fixed address was also bailed pending further enquiries in relation to murder and reported for summons in connection with being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Det Supt Eddie Thistlethwaite said: “I would like to thank all those people who have assisted with this enquiry and I can confirm that we have traced the Vauxhall Vectra that we were looking for.”

“Again, I am asking anyone with information to come forward before we pay them a visit.”
