Joe still single after failing to score on TV island date

Joe Noblet went on a good run but couldn’t score after he took his date Megan to the fictional island on Saturday’s Take Me Out.

The 19-year-old Squires Gate midfielder revealed last week he was a High School Musical and bingo enthusiast from Lostock Hall in Preston and said he was “Preston’s answer to Zac Efron”.

After coming down the ‘love lift’ and turning on the charm Joe whisked Megan off to Fernandos, or more accurately Tenerife, hoping to find love.

The popular ITV show, hosted by comedian Paddy McGuinness, organised a day of fun in the sun for the pair and Joe said it’s what you see is what you get.

He said: “The boys and girls fly over separately so when I met Megan for the meal that was the first time I’d seen her since the show. The whole show was like that so my reaction during every bit of is genuine, none of it is staged.”

After obvious chemistry, Megan dropped a bombshell when she said the eight year gap between them was too much for her to take anything further, but Joe says he didn’t mind.

“I thought we got on really well and it was only awkward for five minutes and then we got on really well again,” he said. “I don’t mind the age gap at all, but I never expected her to be 27!”

Joe and Megan put on their swimsuits to go surfing in a wave machine and Joe was surprised when she complimented his footballer’s physique.

“I never expected her to say that! The date was class though and we had a really good laugh,” Joe said. “Megan lives in Bournemouth so it was always going to be difficult to keep seeing each other but we’re still in contact just texting about the show and stuff.”

But Joe was less than impressed with some of the other men on the show but ended up having the last laugh.

Joe said: “One of the other lads tried to ask Megan out but she rejected him! I think some of the others really put it on for the cameras.”

And speaking about whether we’ll see him on TV again anytime soon, Joe said: “Your details do get passed around for other shows but I’m not desperate to do anything I just went on for a laugh. Other people went on to boost their careers or whatever so we’ll just see what comes along and decide then.”
