Chorley Council is giving a helping hand to people who want to pull on their running shoes and get fit in the New Year.
In an effort to help people throughout the borough get more active, the authority is running the specially-designed ‘Couch To 5k’ running programme, which will see people build up their fitness levels over a nine-week period.
The sessions will start with easy walking activities and then gradually increase speed and distance.
The group will meet three times a week, with a view to participants going on to complete a 5km race in March.
The first meeting takes place at the Hallgate entrance to Astley Park in Chorley, at 10am on Saturday, January 10.
Sessions will then take place on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting at 6.30pm and Saturdays, starting at 10am until March.
They are open to people who are aged 16 and over.
To sign up for the programme, visit www.chorley.gov.uk or call Chorley Council on 01257 515151.
