Quality of care at Morecambe Bay’s health trust remains inadequate, a new report has found.

The Care Quality Commission’s (CQC) latest recent report, due to be published next week following an inspection in February, found that safety and leadership at the trust both fall short of the mark, while the “responsiveness” of the trust requires improvement. Effectiveness of services and “care” provided were found to be good, however.

Trust chief executive Jackie Daniel, said: “The trust and its partners have come a long way over the last two years in developing positive and much improved working relationships.

“I look forward to working alongside our partners this year to ensure standards of safety and quality across our hospitals continue to improve for the benefit of patients.”
