Injured boy rescued after falling from tree near Chorley reservoir

The Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team were called by ambulance crews to help an injured boy near Anglezarke reservoir at around 2.30pm on Sunday (October 25).

The boy, who reportedly injured his back after falling from a tree, was checked by a doctor before being placed into a full body vacuum splint and stretchered to an ambulance.

He was then taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment. The boy is now reportedly back at home and recovering.

A spokesman for Bowland Pennine Mountain Rescue Team said: "We received a call from the North West Ambulance Service about an 8-year-old male who had fallen from a tree and hurt his back.

"Team members were quickly on scene and after a check over by our team doctor he was placed in a full body vacuum splint and then stretchered the short distance to an ambulance and then transferred to hospital in Preston."

Crews were at the scene for approximately two hours.
