More than 500 people have put forward their ideas about how to transform the area around Lancaster Castle.
The suggestions will be featured in a new interactive exhibition called Picture This, held at The Storey CIC in Lancaster, from Thursday, November 15 to Tuesday, November 20.
The event is part of the ‘Beyond the Castle’ project, a scheme to enhance public spaces around the historic castle and priory, Vicarage Fields and Quay Meadows.
It has listened to ideas about how to improve the area, with the aim to develop the site based on people’s views, drawings, stories and other ideas.
Dr Leon Cruickshank, of Lancaster University and the UK project leader of Beyond the Castle, said: “We’re delighted by the high level of interest in this project from residents and businesses close to the site, as well as people from across the city.”
The scheme is led by Lancashire County Council and supported by a co-design challenge led by the university.
An invitation-only viewing event will be held on November 15, from 6pm to 8pm.
The exhibition will be open to all on November 16 from noon to 6pm and a residents’ workshop will be held on November 17 from 10am to noon.
