A new outbreak of the highly contagious winter bug norovirus has affected four wards at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

To try to resolve the outbreak, the hospital trust has closed the affected wards to visitors.

The affected wards are 21, 34, 35, and 37.

Jackie Holt, executive chief nurse, said: “We are asking for the public’s help once again to help us control and resolve this new outbreak.”
