Heart-shaped balloons ‘popped’ up in HomeServe’s offices in Preston, as generous staff showed each other some love, whilst donating thousands of pounds to charity.
HomeServe staff bought the Valentine’s Day balloons from a flutter of caring cupids dotted around each of the company’s UK locations and sent them secretly to people around the business who have made a positive difference to them during the past year.
Collectively, colleagues taking part in the February fund-raising campaign helped donate more than £3,000 to local charities including the Midlands Air Ambulance, North West Blood Bikes and Birmingham Children’s Hospital with thousands of balloons filling sites over the past week alone.
Engineers working in the field also took part by sending e-cards to each other.
HomeServe’s chief marketing officer Greg Reed said: “We’ve been blown away by the popularity of our Valentine’s Day fund-raiser this year.
“Our people have helped raise thousands of pounds for charity and, although saying thank you is already part of our culture, it’s given everyone the chance to add that little splash of colour to the lives of all those who have helped make their life easier over the last year.”
