An application to build new homes in a Lancashire village is set to be decided at a meeting of Preston Council’s planning committee on Monday.

Members deferred a decision at a previous meeting on proposals to build eight homes at Whitefriars on Whittingham Lane in Grimsargh, so a site visit could be carried out.

A report to the committee said the Pringle Homes application would normally be a delegated item, but was called in to the planning committee by Coun Neil Cartwright due to the impact on the character of the area, highways issues and scale, contrary to current housing policy.

Six of the eight proposed homes would be accessed from the existing Silver Birches access road, while the two fronting Whittingham Lane would be accessed from private driveways on to Whittingham Lane.
