The Leyland Food Fayre takes place in the town centre and in and around Leyland Market on Saturday, August 29, from 10am until 4pm.

As well as stalls being set up in Balfour Court opposite the market entrance, a number of gazebos will also be positioned along Hough Lane.

What’s more, existing businesses on the high street are getting in on the action, in a bid to encourage as many people as possible to attend the event, which is organised by the Leyland Guardian, supported by South Ribble Council, and sponsored by The Play Pad.

The Market Ale House, Chicken Barbecue and Aroma’s Coffee Bar will all be coming onto the street to offer passers-by tasters and to sell delicious food.

Meanwhile, Grandad Jim’s Sweet Shop from Chapel Brow will have a stall on Hough Lane, as will the Good Rock Foundation, which will be selling tasty Dalit spices, the proceeds from which support work with street children in India.

They will also be handing out recipe cards to give guests some inspirational ideas about cooking at home.

Anne Langley from Farington is bringing her Always Smiling Soaps business to the event, selling food-themed soaps such as those shaped like cupcakes and fruit baskets.

Other independent businesses from the area will also be counted for on a special Love Leyland stand, which will offer goody bags, special offers and a tombola.

Live music is being provided with support from the Creative Network and Northern Lights Entertainments, and special thanks must also go to HSS generator hire and Whittle Jones.

There will also be free children’s activities on the day.
