Reach new heights in 2019 and take on a daring abseil challenge in support of St Catherine’s Hospice.

The Lostock Hall charity is encouraging supporters to take on a 200ft abseil down the side of Preston’s Guild Tower on March 30.

Emma Jacovelli, head of community engagement, said: “Our abseils are always really popular and lots of fun, with supporters testing their nerves and experiencing something new, all whilst raising vital funds for our important work.

“We’re excited to be hosting this year’s abseil at a brand new location; the Guild Tower is the highest office building in Preston, and promises unique views over the city as well as a rewarding experience for those taking part.

“We’re urging people to sign up now to challenge themselves in 2019, whilst raising sponsorship to help fund our specialist palliative and end-of-life care for local people.

“As a local charity we depend on the generosity and efforts of our communities to raise £3.7m of our annual £5.4m running costs, as we work to help people affected by conditions like cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure to have a good quality of life, right to the end of life.

“Make 2019 the year you do something amazing for yourself, and a much-loved cause.”

Registration is just £15 and the abseil is open to anyone aged 14 and over.
