A Preston charity has launched a campaign to warn people of the dangers of acquiring a head injury whilst out and about.
Headway Preston & Chorley’s Think aHead campaign is aiming to help reduce instances of traumatic brain injury, caused by a trauma or a blow to the head.
Headway Development Officer, Liz Bamber said: “Sadly, we see far too many individuals and their families whose lives have been devastated by traumatic acquired brain injury, a hidden and life-long disability.
“We feel we have a responsibility to raise awareness of some of the causes of traumatic brain injury and we are particularly focussing on being safe when out and drinking alcohol.”
This year Headway is promoting safety during a night out and has produced a Think aHead checklist to encourage people to make plans in advance before going out with friends.
