Ambulance staff were recognised at an awards ceremony.

The North West Ambulance Service hosted its Going The Extras Mile awards at Ribby Hall.

The event was attended by almost 200 staff members and it focused on peer nominated awards, special commendations and contributions made by volunteers.

Frontline Staff Member of the Year Paramedic Emergency Service 2014 was awarded to Jessica Heardman from Morecambe. Last year in Jessica’s first year of practice, was called to a lady who was in labour. The mother and baby were in distress and Jessica knew she had to act fast as there were clear complications with delivery.

PTS Delivery Manager, Lesley Wells-Earp from Broughton, was awarded Manager of the Year, for her commitment to her team and the relentless work she does to support staff.
