Tenants from The Fields sheltered scheme in Eccleston have been treated to a luxury day of pampering.

The Event was run by Sefton O.P.E.R.A. (Older Persons Enabling Resource & Action), thanks to a grant from the Chorley Community Housing (CCH) Neighbourhood Fund.

Nick Halstead of CCH said: “It is important that we promote health and well being to our sheltered residents.

“When I attended the event the residents told me how happy they were to be able to have days like these where they can relax and be pampered and learn new ways to promote their own well being.”

These events involve a range of activities including arm chair exercises, Tai Chi, hand, back and neck massages which are adapted for older people.

Pat Davis and Marlene Bedford from The Fields said: “It was an absolutely fantastic and brilliant day that was very relaxing.

“We felt pampered and completely spoilt.”
